Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Grand Invitations holds about couples, their guests and pledge contributors, and what we do with it. Grand Invitations is run by AG Digital Solutions Ltd in Uganda, and we follow the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.

What we collect

  • Couples, planners and their wedding team: name, email address, phone number and password (stored hashed, so no one can read it), plus the wedding details you add, such as names, photos, venues, times and wording.
  • Guests: the name, title, phone number, group and number of people admitted that the couple adds, the guest's RSVP and any note they leave, whether they have opened their invite, and when their pass was scanned at the gate.
  • Pledge contributors: name, phone number, the amounts pledged and paid, and payment references.
  • Payments: the payment status and reference from Pesapal. Card numbers and mobile money PINs are entered with Pesapal and never reach us.
  • Visits to our pages: standard technical details such as browser type and pages visited, through Google Tag Manager, so we can see which adverts bring couples to us.

Who decides what is collected about guests

The couple decides which guests and contributors to add and what to send them. We hold that information on the couple's behalf and use it only to run their wedding: to show each guest their own invite, take RSVPs, check guests in and send the invites, reminders and receipts the couple asks for. Guests cannot see each other's details.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share only what each provider needs to do its job:

  • Pesapal processes payments for packages and pledges.
  • Yoola delivers text messages, such as invites and pledge reminders, to the phone numbers the couple provides.
  • Resend delivers our emails, such as password reset and wedding team invitation emails.
  • Google (Tag Manager and Google Ads) measures visits and sign-ups from our adverts.
  • The hosting providers that store our database and files.

We may also share information when the law requires it.

Cookies and storage on your device

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. Your browser also remembers small choices, such as whether you turned the music off. Google Tag Manager may set its own cookies to measure adverts.

How long we keep it

We keep a wedding's information while the couple's account is open, so they can look back at RSVPs and pledges after the day. A couple can ask us to delete a wedding and its guest list at any time. We keep payment records for as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Guests and contributors can also ask the couple who invited them. To make a request, email love@grandinvitations.com. We reply within 30 days.

Keeping it safe

Data is sent over encrypted connections. Each invite link is private to one guest, and each gate pass carries a signed code that cannot be copied onto another guest's name. Only the people a couple adds to their wedding team, and our own support staff when helping that couple, can see its guest list.

Changes to this policy

We will update the date at the top of this page whenever this policy changes.
